Social reproduction is the economic process of recreating the workforce. It is the daily and intergenerational maintenance of workers, or the working population. Capitalists need healthy, socialized, productive workers on a daily & intergenerational basis. Work of social reproduction ensures that people are ready for paid work every day, they"re clothed, fed, adequately rested, ready for work, also know as daily reproduction. It also ensures that when today"s workers die, there will be others to take their place, this is known as intergenerational production. Social reproduction produces workers through expenditure of labour and consumption of goods & services. 85% of households in capitalist economies are worker/working class households. It primarily takes place in 3 places. Most work of social reproduction occurs inside the home; however, work can also be purchased in the market/private sector as a service, or it can be provided by the state or government. The state schools, public child care: care for elderly.
