Document Summary

Primary goal of the class is the written aspect of music. Music notation only gives the most important details. Moods and emotion are difficult or impossible to notate. Even considering how music notation has gotten exponentially more precise, some things cannot be clearly notated. Clefs give a point of reference to what each note is. Tre(cid:271)le/g clef, looks like a (cid:862)g(cid:863). se(cid:272)o(cid:374)d li(cid:374)e form bottom is a g. Bass/f clef, looks like a backwards (cid:862)f(cid:863), se(cid:272)o(cid:374)d li(cid:374)e fro(cid:373) top is an f. Every good boy does fine treble clef line notes. Good boys do fine always- bass clef line notes. All cows eat grass- bass clef space notes. Tenor/alto/ c clef- middle point of clef denotes middle c. The grand staff is connected with a large bracket, and includes both clefs. This system numbers every octave of c starting from the bottom on the piano, and is used in music writing analysis to be specific.
