If 2 same species are put in 2 totally different environment, they could become very different eventually due to natural selection. These animals will eventually not be able to interbreed. Present day species are modification of ancestral species. Biological evolution: change in the overall genetic characteristics of a group of organisms from one generation to next (artificial selection vs. natural selection) Species: all individuals that could interbreed in their natural surroundings. Population: group of individuals of particular species that share a common habit.
