Cell theory: all living organisms are made up of cells; the cell is the basic structural unit of life; all cells come from pre-existing cells. Bacteria: peptidoglycan cell wall and plasma membrane, no membranous organelles, small, similar to archaea. Gram-: stain pink, double membrane, harder to cure if infected. Membranous organelles, larger, no peptidoglycan (no cell wall to increase membrane fluidity), cytoskeleton (provide structural support, make cell stable)
