The story"s power comes from his language, setting, characters, etc. Readers are meant to feel what the characters feel, as if they are going through the experience too. Setting has a fundamental influence on the emotions of the story and the emotions of the characters. Any questions it raises are addressed to the readers - gives readers something to chew on. The form is given by the movements of the mind - changes in structure and stanza may indicate irregularity, change in emotions of characters, etc. Importance of time and revisiting certain scenes in the poet"s mind. Use of either common language to appeal to common folk, or more elevated language. Poet reflects a lot on what"s going on and what happened in the past.
