62 views2 pages

Document Summary

Public bureaucracies are only allowed to perform functions that are authorized by law, while private are allowed to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals as long as is it not against the law. Also, public agencies must concern themselves with meeting the competing demands of many superiors outside of their organization private businesses are less subjected to this. Due to these differences, and many others, managing a public sector is more dif cult than running a public sector. This is because public sectors not only have more rules and regulations, but they are far more scrutinized by the public than private. This makes it hard to more forward on a goal when the agency knows its actions will be watched and judged very closely. It is also harder to run a public sector because they have to rely on persuasion to receive the work needed to accomplish goals.
