Scientific method: observation: if you can"t observe a phenomenon than you cannot test it (we can"t test if animals have souls because you can"t observe a soul). New technologies change the way we can do science because they change our ability to observe things, like microscopes allowed cells and small shit to be studied. In science there is no perfection, only good models. The original models are always very bad because they are based off of small observations. As we better our models, they get closer to the truth, but it will never be perfect or 100% true. What is biology: the study of life. What determines solubility: like dissolves like, like in terms of polarity, polar solutes dissolve in polar solvents, non polar solutes dissolve in non polar solvents. Atom: smallest unit of matter separable by normal chemical means, smallest unit of matter that retains all of the properties of that element, fundamental component of matter.
