Executive branch president: (4 years, 2 term +2yrs) President can pardon cancel a person"s conviction and let the person go free as if there wasn"t any trial. Delegation of powers congress delegates authority (through law) to agencies (below white house) ex: ice, immigration national service, department of homeland security. Prosecutorial discretion- do nothing ex: speeding past an officer going 50 in a 45mph road. Checks & balances: a system that allows each branch of government to amend or veto acts of another branch so as to prevent any one branch to have too much power.
