Document Summary

Deviance (part of counter culture): ways of thinking and acting that are subject to social control. Social control is the way people in a social group show their disapproval of people and the way they act (laugh, roll their eyes, punching). Anomie (depressed): normlessness, lack of ideals and lack of purpose. When people feel anomie, they feel a social strain and anxiety. When you can"t achieve the cultural goals, you feel frustrated. Cultural goals are different from society to society. Responding to strain (when you don"t fit in society, losing something of value): deviance could emerge. There are 5 ways people react: conform: most common. Said that), people learn deviant behaviours from others as well (i. e. when the group teaches sandy dirty shit xd). Our society is culturally complex we are taught not to steal, but sometimes we justify deviant action convincing ourselves that the rules do not apply to the situation.
