Can you indicate where the central canal is located. Cerebral spinal fluid is present in the canal. In the spinal nerve, both sensory and motor nerves are present. However, at the level of the spine the spinal nerve splits two roots: the dorsal root enters the dorsal horn of the spinal cord and corresponds to sensory fibers. Note that the cell bodies from these fibres are located outside the spinal cord in what is called a ganglion. The ventral root enters the ventral horn of the spinal cord and corresponds to motor fibres.
