Three theories of children"s mental development: jean piaget"s theory of cognitive development, lev vygotsky"s sociocultural theory. Criticism of piaget"s theory of stages: underestimated the mental abilities of infants and young children, overestimated those of adolescents and adults, piaget had a greater impact on development psychology than any other person.
