Only now has the idea that a form of family (some argue nuclear family) is universal, is being challenged. Because the family seems to be the predominant we must not be bemused into thinking that it is the natural or basic one. There are 5 topics that will be highlighted . Note: a good way to remember these things (if needed) is the letters spell chimp. But cross culturally not everyone thinks that way. Different cultures believe different things about bloodlines or biological connections. Some believe you are only truly related to your father because his input in conception is the only one that matters, same with some cultures and mothers. What is understood as biological is socially defined and there fore is expressed in different ways. Egyptian royalty enforced incest to keep bloodline clean in the royal family, since they believed royals were descendants of god.
