The world once became globalized through the silk road that connected ancient china with central asia and europe for hundreds of years. Globalization took another turn with the rise of the european powers from the sixteenth century onwards and the emergence of capitalism & the bourgeoisie came to rule the world. Karl mark & friedrich engels explained this as revolutionary and international. European capitalism went on to control resource ows and take huge pro ts from a system of unequal exchange . In the early part of the 20th century people rebelled because of modern capitalism. In the 1950s the us seen itself as a global power and was convinced they needed to internationalize capitalism worldwide. By the 1970s the globalized world was split into 3 parts, the capital west, the socialist east, and the underdeveloped.
