By discussing the connection of a variety of actions, i am attempting to dissolve hypotheses promoting isolated causes of disease by advocating for a more plural view: an understudied area. Procedure: extensive search of peer-reviewed articles on both my theoretical frameworks and case study, databases: mcmaster university library, jstor, google scholar, taylor. Gardner 2: looking for quotations, not data points would take too long to gather enough data within the literature to create meaningful results. Looking at both cultural and biological factors is necessary for understanding disease. Some cultural or social patterns influence how diseases are understood and their transmission. Determinants of disease: socioeconomic status, social networks, and stigmatization (putnam & galea, 2008, p. 277).
