There were several idea"s representative of the interview/gallery/curative process, including: emphasizing creativity, defining art, and representation. Curator of modern art, stated her job concerns rewarding creativity in terms of artist, art, and staff. She travels canada to find individuals who are doing something new, inspiring, and engaging. When asked to define art, she stated that art is what anyone conceives of as art. art at the gallery takes many forms: conceptual, performance-related, or untraditional media. However, what is conceived as art changes with time. In the past, the acceptable artist was a white man; as time as progressed, the art world has changed. The art gallery of hamilton"s (agh) mandate states they are looking to incorporate previously underrepresented groups, specifically: women, lgbtq+ members, and visible minorities: personal view of the interview process. I enjoyed the interview process as melissa (the curator of contemporary art) was such a nice and informative person.
