Consciousness, Learning, and Memory all play a significant role in how we learn and retain information.  For this topic, I would like you to focus on the information processing model of memory, how information is initially obtained, passed from one part of storage to another, and brought back into your active consciousness to work with.  You may also comment on the phenomenon of false memories.

In 2 to 3 sentences describe one example in which a neuropsychological patient has been found to perform appropriate behaviors and response to visual stimuli, even without consciously experiencing those stimuli (blindsight) make sure to describe both which visual brain regions are damaged in the patient to cause their loss of conscious awareness as well as which visual brain regions are still preserved to enable some preserved visual processing even without awareness.
