User centered design, when performing a task analysis, make the design easier for the user. The task analysis has to answer these 4 questions. Physical size and abilities (familiar with the product) Sampling existing users, informative? faulty analysis potential users exclude. Indoors (is it accessible, lighting or busy area) Tasks discussed with respect to environment and user characteristics. List the general goals of the system stick to one goal. Describe the human interaction with the system. Identify the tasks and actions of the user. Identify the function, then task, then sub tasks. Sub tasks = perception of the keys, planning the motor action and executing the action. Describe the action (fingers, dominant hand, the force required to press the buttons) Identify the demands of cognitive, motor and sensory. Identify: trigger that starts the sequence, outcome of the task, duration of each task. Talk about the results and probability of the success rate.
