I think we should rehabilitate all species and not just those at risk. Similarly, we should rehabilitate animals no matter the cause of their injuries. We provide care for humans no matter the cause and no matter how emergent. In the wildlife rehabilitators code of ethics, it states that the primary concern for rehabilitators must be what is best for the animal (poisson et al. , 2016) It is evident that animals help us in many ways. Many are used to benefit humans such as therapy/companion animals to help relieve stress. For example, birds play a vital role in nature, keeping everything balanced, pest control, seed pollination, etc. The nuts that squirrels bury and forget will take root and grow into trees. Animals prove to be more and more valuable the more we learn about them and i think many more people are beginning to put more value on animal lives as they do human lives.
