Nonverbal behaviour: behaviours that occur during communication that don"t include verbal language. Speech illustrations: nonverbal behaviour often gestures, that accompany speech and are used to illustrate/highlight speech. Emblems: nonverbal gestures that carry meaning, like a phrase/sentence. Paralinguistic cues: aspects of the voice that convey information, such as tone, intonation, pitch, speech rate, use of silence. Proxemics: use of space in interpersonal relationships. Intracultural and intercultural communication: messages: meanings that encoders intend to convoy and decoders interpret.
