Most inmates released into community prior to end of sentence reintegration. Place offenders in least restrictive setting possible. Conditional releases & temp absences also available. Conditional releases can be revoked if considered necessary for public safety. Only most serious offenders sentenced to period of incarceration. Use of alt sanctions should be maxed. Key predictors of recidivism are known each individual offender must be assessed in terms of predictors. 1) antisocial/procriminal attitudes, values, beliefs, cognitive emotional states.
