Document Summary

Heritability in many traits have been measured. We expect some traits to have very high environmental variance, and those traits tend also to have lower heritability. Behavioural traits have large error bars, very large variations: suggests behaviours are largely influenced by environment. Life history traits are particularly traits of interest because they"re related to fitness: they tend to have low heritability, we want to know why if they"re related to fitness, but have low heritability, If life history traits were 0. 3, and morphological traits were 0. 3, it would fall on the same line. The bulk of the points fall well above the diagonal line: morphological traits have much higher heritability than life history traits in the same species, and that tends to be the pattern. Life history traits, that are related to fitness, tends to have a lower heritability. It appears that there"s more environmental variance without any additional genetic variance.
