Society would have to always strive for the greater good, even if that means some people will lose . Individuals are free to make their own choices and do whatever they want, as long as it allows others to do the same. People should strive to do what is right, and to do the most good in the world. Paul taylor: intro to the philosophy of race. A social construct that artificially divides people into distinct groups based on a loose classification of physical characteristics. It means different things in different parts of the world. Race doesn"t travel because it is looked at differently in different places. The phenomena of separating people conceptually-- in language--into something people called race. Going around explaining race doesn"t exist won"t solve any problems. Pretending that racism is no longer a problem won"t solve anything. Race-talk is to acknowledge the impact race has on us.
