Document Summary

Each classical theory develops a paradigmatic answer to that questions. Hobbesian problem: the problem of social order, named after thomas hobbs. In the question how is social order possible, order is a noun. It is better to thing of order as a verb (ordering) instead of order(noun) Approaching word instead of ordering we avoid thinking it as a stable or robust state as if order was given, natural, or remains in place over time. We want to avoid thinking about social order as a steady state that is robust/in place. Ordering: we pay attention that any order must be accomplished in some way/ can also break down or disintegrate. Once a social order is in place it has to defend itself against the forces of disorder. No social order can take itself for granted, must repair itself for being disturbed and has to protect itself against forces of disorder that are always there.
