Use present tense that refer to past or present events ! For future tense use to go or to run , not will! Do not use articles a an and ! Avoid using unclear or little known names, phrases ! Do not start headline with a verb ! Avoid words like hit, ay, hike, nix, nab, slate ! Most common structure for writing news stories ! Concentrates on most interesting and important information at the top of the story !
