Document Summary
5 criteria that makes things alive: energy-all living things need to be able to atain and use energy. We eat things to get energy (cellular respiraion) Plants get energy from the sun-it makes food out of it (photosynthesis) First law of thermodynamics: energy can not be created. It cannot be destroyed but it can be transformed or transferred. Photosynthesis: 6co2 + 6h2o ------> c6h12o6 + 6o2. Cellular respiraion: c6h12o6 + 6o2 6co2 + 6h2o + energy (atp& heat: cells- all living things are made up of cells. Some are just one cells some are are muliple cells. Cytoplasm-everything outside the nucleus in eukaryoic cells including organelles. Proteins and carbs can also be found in the membrane, but mostly lipids: informaion. Dna is a geneic code informaion it stores informaion. Each gene contains the code to make/the synthesis for a paricular protein.
