Document Summary

The methods for the chosen experiment consisted of two experimental groups and one control group. The first experimental group contained 17 lettuce seeds with six grams of garlic in a boat made of aluminum foil. The second experimental group also contained 17 lettuce seeds, but the six grams of garlic was directly touching the seeds by being spread throughout the petri dish. The control group just contained 17 lettuce seeds with no garlic at all. Each control and experimental group were all contained in petri dishes with 1 piece of filter paper and five ml of distilled water, which is best for growth. Both experimental and control groups were also sealed tightly with parafilm. All petri dishes were stored and given a week to grow. After the week, all were examined by noting the number of lettuce seeds that were germinated. The seeds that were germinated were measured by the length of the root to the leaves.
