Achieved status social position that a person attains largely through his or her own efforts. Master statuses status that dominates others and determines person"s general position in society. Ex. president, race, gender, disability set of expectations for people who have given social position or status. When incompatible expectations rise from 2 or more social positions held by same person. Go to birthday party, visit mom in hospital, come in to cover shift role strain.
