Ostracism is a form of social punishment. But, internal emoional guides are even more important. Anicipaion of feeling these emoions can stop bad behavior. Feeling these emoions ater wrongdoing can help us ix the wrongdoing. Embarrassment signal to others you know you have broken a social norm. May be extroverted, but low in agreeableness. Low in agreeableness and conscieniousness (following the rules) They tend to believe that laws and social norms don"t apply to them and that they can do whatever they want to get what they want. Low in anxiety able to take lots of risks without worrying about it. Dark triad personality traits are linked to weaker feelings of shame and guilt. Narcissism inlated self-views tend to view self as not blameworthy. Low agreeableness and conscieniousness (in several of the dt types linked to lower concern for others) Low anxiety (in psychopathy) linked to less afecive force for self-blame.
