In hunter gatherer societies, very little evidence of mass deaths. Much more organized mass violence once we change into agricultural lifestyle. Some within group jockeying for social status (rank) But, most hunter-gatherer societies are very egalitarian (they enforced equality. Avoiding ostracism-(when we"re excluded from social groups) (follow the group, don"t anger others, be valued) Avoiding being taken advantage of (anger when others cheat by not pulling their weight or don"t return favors)
