To be a state you must: have national recognition, other people must say you"re a country, not just you, ex: taiwan and china. China says they are a part of them still: ex: isis isn"t a state even though they have governance. No one backs them: a territory, land, people, control over that land, some kind of military -- protect from outside, have to be able to lead people -- control from inside. What"s the point of countries: maintain order, make laws, protection, outside: foreign invaders, above: government. Inside: neighbors: government, funding, roads, schools, military, hospitals, people in charge get, more power, more territory if they expand their power. Why: everyone does what they want, especially the strongest ones. If people don"t pay revenue, the state can simply take it: states thus , predator states, do all states act like predators, no!
