When we cell that membrane begins to detach from cell wall, will come back plasmolysis. By def plasmolysis, pp comp of wp is zero. Plants care about maintain constant + tp because the tissues depon + force water exerts against cell wall. Way plants keep water in cell by using osmosis. Bring water into cell by changing to the conc of solutes inside cell with respect to outside. Why is tpslide- cell wall has degree of elasticity, can be stretched. When plants have tp and stretch cell wall, those cells tend to grow bigger, divide and make new cells. So tp and elasticity send signals for plants that they"re in good sitch, grow tissues, make leaves bigger. If plants care about maintain tp constant, can do this only as conditons change. For instance wp becomes more neg, as lose water, then the only way to keep tp constant is inc conc of solutes inside cell.
