Other poetic competitions early in the week. 3 tragic poets competed: each produced 3 plays plus a satyr play. Satyr play is just funny, add satyrs to a normally somber play. Never active out of athens political life: helped bring cult of asklepios to athens. Part of culture and the political elite.
