Normal lapse rate: *temperature doesn"t always increase this is the (cid:498)normal(cid:499) in the troposphere temp decreases with height. **if the air temperature increases with height we say that an inversion is taking place** Pressure= force / area: ex: standing on the table. *anytime there is a force on a surface there is a pressure being exerted as well. Total mass of atmosphere (force= mass x acceleration)
