95% of young adults set up a lifetime relationship system. Setting up a household and transitioning into a marriage is what we will focus on today. Some are cohabiting, but not legally married. When you"re committed to being with someone forever and sexually active with them exclusively, that is a marriage like relationship. Marriage rates are declining and cohabitation rates are increasing. More of a tendency to live with someone and set up a household before marriage. Most cohabitation lead to marriage after they have children. Some are cohabiting because it is convenient, economically favorable, and filled with ambivalence about the future relationship. These relationships are referred to as sliding relationships. Not accompanied by a personal commitment to work toward the future of the relationship in the future we will see millennials commonly getting divorces when their relationship originated as a sliding relationship.
