The posterior pituitary does not contain endocrine tissue Functions as a storage for endocrine hormones. (adh and oxytocin are built in the hypothalamus) Oxytocin helps induce labor and milk release in females. Epinephrine is released from the adrenal gland into the bloodstream during fight of flight. Both members of a family of molecules called catecholamines. Know the endocrine glands involved in the life cycle of reproduction(testes & ovaries) As you move from adolescence to maturity, the endocrine tissue in your reproductive organs must have receptors for tropine hormones.
