Hard to determine how many categorical variables there should be. Generally good ideal to have other or none of the above option. My aunt had . she did this, then this happened . Statistically not much can be done w/ anecdotal evidence, but doesn"t mean not important. Try not to interfere w/participants other than taking measurements. Ideally, gather all variables that are relevant to research question. @ end of study, may find associations between outcomes and some variables.
