Declarative: memory that you can verbally express and think about consciously. Episodic: specific life events, episodes with specific time stamp. Memories can start off episodic and become semantic. Esp can remember someone teaching you something but eventually you lose the association of where you learn or who you learn from the facts you learn become semantic. No limit to amount of visual info held. Replaced short term store (modal model) with working memory. Phonological loop: maintains linguistic info in phonological form. Visual spatial buffer: temporary maintenance of visual and or spatial info. Working memory is not simply a short term store.
