Colonies view themselves as partners within the british empire. Virginia- key trade & economy: tobacco key to politics: house of burgesses- established the rights of englishmen -appointed governor. Maryland- looked for colonization, wanted freedom and equality land and tobacco were also very important to their development religious con ict & warfare.
