Document Summary

People behave virtuously having decided that it is a right thing to do. People do not behave emotionally, but decide how to behave. The action that come upon a decision is found among the voluntary. Ex. of voluntary action based not based on decision. Animals and children act willingly at times, but that does not mean they are acting on decision. When acting emotionally, we are not acting on decision. Appetite is pleasant and painful, which decision is not. Decision making is getting to the right kind of behavior, not always the most pleasant. We share appetite & emotion w/ nonrational animals, but not decision. We cannot decide to accomplish impossible things. We can wish to be immortal, but not decide to be it. We wish for things that are in somebody else"s power. We can believe anything, but not decide anything. Beliefs are true/false while decisions are good/bad.
