Coevolution: species that mutually influence each other"s evolution. Result: flower structure have become incredibly diverse and complex. Birds, bees, ants, flies visit flowers to get pollen or nectar. Nectar is a saccharine secretion of plans to attract animals. Can be quite specific: some yucca plants pollinated by only one kind of moth. But: most plant pollinators = less specific: some animals pollinate many species, different animals pollinate the same species. Adaption, strategy, deception, cheating, advertising, beauty, coevolution, timing. Organism: plants and animals don"t plan" or think about" or design" to be deceptive or attractive or cheat. Rather: organism that evolve these traits are better adapted and have more offspring. Corn, beans, squash (great triad of mx) Llamas and alpacas (largest animal in us) Turkey (largest domesticated in mx and central america) Beneficial damaging many decomposers: parasites liv in or on host and can cause harm to host, mutuanist: proved benefit and receive benefit from host, linchens: algae and fungi.
