We will be looking at differences in western medicine across the united states. Bodies in biomedicine: the body as a machine. In addition, (cid:449)e ha(cid:448)e see(cid:374) (cid:373)o(cid:396)e (cid:272)o(cid:373)pute(cid:396) (cid:373)etapho(cid:396)s. the (cid:271)(cid:396)ai(cid:374) (cid:272)a(cid:374) (cid:271)e see(cid:374) as a (cid:862)p(cid:396)o(cid:272)esso(cid:396)(cid:863: consequences: you may start to think about your body as separate parts and also as parts that can be replaced. There is also this idea that everything should be fixable, similarly how you can take apart a car and fix it. The approach to how we fix things is really influenced by this metaphor.
