Performance- actual actions or behaviors relevant to organization goals, not the consequence/result of an action or behavior: ex: setting crab pots = performance, number of crabs caught = not performance. Effectiveness- evaluation of the results of performance: often influenced by factors beyond the actions of individual. E. g. crabs caught influenced by weather conditions. Ratio of effectiveness (output) to cost of achieving that level of effectiveness (input: e. g total crabs caught per hour. A doctor: how many sales made per transaction, students grades as a function of hours teaching. Define each of campbell"s determinants of performance and give one example: Understanding what is required to perform a task: ex: knowing facts, principles, goals, requirements, declarative knowledge, knowledge about facts, things, and requirements necessary to perform a job, eg. Knowing the legal size limit for harvesting male crabs. Performance is a multiplicative function of these three determinants. Each determinant equally important to overall job performance.
