KNES 385 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Physical Therapy
Document Summary
To understand what differentiates an expert and a beginner or to see if someone has learned you must be able to measure performance. Implication for physical therapist: can only see if there was an improvement in your patient throughout the pt program by measuring performance before, during and after program. Implication for physical education teacher: they must be able to measure and evaluate a students improvement/growth in the class. Motor performance is what we actually measure when a person performs a skill. It is divided into two types of measure: performance outcome measure (outcome scores) Nothing to do with details on how movement was performed: performance production measures (process measures) One type is not better than the other they just provide different types of information. Outcome measures do not tell us how a result was achieved.
