Often a place which has been identified as a place of extraction; i. e. the extraction of gold, diamonds, animals (taxidermy)- people too. Africa has been a source of slavery as well and the colonial influences are what lead to this. Africa is geographically unique; it is tectonically stable now, but when it was not, great valleys and plateaus were formed. The cradle of humankind (little known from 5000-500 years ago) Neglected history due to colonialism; little is known because of colonial influence and destruction. Regional complementarity is the idea that two regions will both have goods which each other desire for trade. Ghana is in west africa and is the most prosperous, liberal, and politically stable nations in. Africa and serves as a model for other, less developed african nations.
