Member: henry matisse, andre derain, maurice de vlaminck. Fauvism can be seen as a transition to cubism. In 1907, fauvism was almost drawn to a close. He visited nigeria and brought back textiles that were colorful, and he was inspired by bright colors and bold patterns. Use of flat patterning (common in nigeria) The use of color is very new. Unnaturalistic colors on the woman, like her face. Looks like patches and splashes of colors- looks messy.
