The high-dry objective has a magnification of 40x, which makes the total magnification 400x. The oil-immersion objective has a magnification of 100x, which makes the total magnification of 1000x: only use with oil. Always carry your microscope using two hands, one holding the arm and one holding the base. You only wipe the objective lens with lens paper. You use the coarse focus when using the scanning objective lens and the fin focus when using any other objective lens. Using the wrong focus knob can damage your microscope.
