Differential association theory: individuals learn deviant and criminal behavior from associating with deviance and criminals. Social learning theory: you learn from who you associate with. Subculture deviance: behavior through with a person deviates from the norms of the surrounding society by conforming to the norms of a subculture group. Merton"s/structural strain theory: structural roadblocks to culturally define goals lead to alternative and deviant means of achievement.
