Boundaries of the abdomen: btw diaphragm& pelvis, bounded by the margin of the lower ribs, superior border is the base of the ribs, inferior border is the pelvic area(iliac spine) Four quadrants: upper right: liver, gall bladder, stomach, large& small intestine, upper left: stomach, pancreas, spleen, lower right: large& small intestine, ascending colon, appendix, lower left: large& small intestine, descending colon.
