Learning any relatively permanent change in behavior or knowledge that is due to past experience: conditioning. Classical conditioning ivan pavlov (russian physiologist: pavlov studied digestion in dogs i. e. presented dogs with food. Every time pavlov would deed dogs he sounded a tone. Over time, dogs begun to salivate at the sound of the tone not the food. Before conditioning: unconditioned stimulus evokes a natural response (asking if he wants an altoid, unconditioned response unlearned reaction (saying yes, holding out hand) During: ucs (altoid) + ns (powering on of computer) Example: conditioned stimulus replaced the ucs; learned stimulus, conditioned response learned reaction, ucs (shot with nerf gun) ucr (flinch, cs (quack sound) cr (flinch) You return home from a run and go to the fridge to grab a drink. You see the milk first, and immediately start guzzling straight from the carton out of dire thirst. The milk is the consistency of clumpy yogurt, and you instantly become nauseas and sick.
