Mt is a sensory area in the dorsal stream of visual processing. Lip (lateral intra parietal cortex) is neither sensory nor motor. Its response is based on the decision the animal makes, right or wrong. Unlike cells in mt cells in lip are not sensory since the response will be the same even if the animal makes a positive response to the incorrect sensory signal. It is not a motor response since it is not tied tightly to the parameters of the motor activity. So it is likely a cell that has something to do with the decision between the sensory input (mt) and the motor output (fef, superior. It would be important to demonstrate that this decision cell is driven in some way by the memory of the instruction, but since we do not know how memories are stored, this is not available
